Basement Renovation

Remodelling or finishing the basement is the perfect way to increase the living area of your home. Finished basements are ideal for recreation rooms, wet bars and additional bedrooms if planned properly. Rave Contracting specializes in basement renovations by focusing on the things that make a difference like designing to maximize space, improving basement waterproofing and insulation (thermal and sound), selecting the right windows and enabling natural lighting.

Here is a project we completed that created a warm, lighted area to hang out and watch tv. Rave installed a fireplace in the rec room to provide that cozy feeling.

Here are some after & before pics of another recent renovation.

Bathrooms

Renovation projects often include a new bathroom. Here are two that we recently finished.

This was a simple vanity room as part of a basement renovation.

Some clients like to think of their bathroom as an oasis, a place to rejuvenate every day. This project included a steam shower stall with water proof speakers.

Special Purpose Rooms

Many client have a specific use they have in mind for a room or area of the house. Here are some examples.

This client wanted a fitness room with a cork floor for added warmth.

Of course, everyone needs a laundry room.

Car Port/Garage (Updated Project January 2011)

It’s not too difficult to design a simple garage that can be attached to a house without looking overly dominant. But it can be a challenge to create living space above the garage. Because of the combined wall heights of the garage and a full-size space above it, the roofline may need to be higher than that of the house.

A new garage can be more than a handy addition to your house - it can also be a visual improvement. Some of the nicest garages don’t look like garages. Instead, they look like part of the house itself.

Here is a car port we constructed for a client in which we created a house-like facade.

Two Years later and the customer asked us to come back and make it just a little bigger. Jan 2011

Special Projects

Rave Contracting can provide expertise and advice on those special projects.

This is a screened in sunporch that was refreshed for a cottage in Muskoka.

Here is a kit doll house we built for a client in Burlington.

This Pizza Oven was just reconstructed this year after the one my Father and a close friend of his built 30 years ago was badly damaged after the old roof collapsed this past winter. The new oven was made with the same dimenssions as the old one but was updated using new designer blocks and bricks. The roof is a post and beam construction with a steel roof to match the excisting cottage.
